SEMIA-RAVA UPMA & KICHADI
Semia 1 cup
Green chilly 4 or 5
Salt as required
Mustard, urad dal, sundrop oil-3 spoons for tempering
Curry leaves 1 strip
Heat oil in kadai, add tempering items, curry leaves, onion and green chillies. Saute for 2 minutes till it turns golden in colour , then add water, salt and close with lid. Once the water starts boiling well, add semia little by little , stirring continuously. Stop adding when it is semisolid and close with lid. Serve once fully cooked and water is fully absorbed.
RAVA UPMA ALSO SAME PROCEDURE
You can prepare with semia and rava together also.
If vegetables (carrot-1, beans-4, potato-1,tomato-1, green peas-2 spoons, capsicum-1)-see pic above, are cut into small pieces, boiled and added after onion is done in above procedure, it is kichadi. A spoon of ghee and 5 fried cashews and little lemon juice, will enhance the taste.
