ITEMS REQUIRED:

Whole white chana-1 cup

Salt – as required

For grinding:

Onion – 2

Tomato – 2

Green chilli – 1

Ginger – 1 inch piece

Garlic – 3

Powders:

Turmeric powder  – pinch

Chana masala powder – 1 spoon

Chilli powder – 3/4 spoon

Coriander powder – 1 ½ spoons

For tempering:

Oil – 1 ½ tbsp

Jeera -1 spoon

Bay leaf – 1

METHOD:

  • Soak chana overnight and cook for 6 whistles till soft.
  • Make a paste of ginger, garlic, green chilli, tomatoes and onion.
  • Heat oil in kadai, add jeera and bay leaf.
  • Add paste, stir well till raw smell vanishes.
  • Add powders and salt, allow to boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add cooked chana, mix well and switch off after 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
