mixed pulse kurma


Mixed Pulses of your choice                                                                       1 cup

(ex..green moong, black channa, white channa, rajma, etc.,)

Oil                                                                                                                             4 tbsp

Onion                                                                                                                     2 (medium sized)

Ginger garlic paste                                                                                        1 tbsp

Tomato                                                                                                                 2

Green chilly                                                                                                        2

Dhania powder                                                                                                1 tbsp

Salt                                                                                                                          as required

Turmeric powder                                                                                             ¼ spoon

Chilli powder                                                                                                      1 spoon

Coriander leaf                                                                                                   as required


Cinnamon stick                                                                                                1

Clove                                                                                                                       2

Elachi                                                                                                                      2

Bay leaf                                                                                                                 1

Saunf(sombu)                                                                                                  1 spoon


  • Soak all pulses overnight and cook till soft.
  • Chop onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves and green chilies finely.
  • Heat oil, add spices and sauté for a while.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté till it becomes transparent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add tomato cuts and green chilly cuts.
  • Add all powders, mix and sauté well for 5 minutes.
  • Add cooked pulses, mix well and allow to boil together.
  • Switch off and garnish with coriander leaves.
