AVAL(POHA) PAYASAM

aval payasam

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Aval(poha)                          1/4 cup

Milk                                           3 cups

Sugar                                       ¾ cup

Ghee                                         1 tbsp

Cashew                                  8

Elachi                                     4

Saffron                                  small pinch(optional)

METHOD:

  • Heat half of ghee in kadai,  add aval and fry for a minute.
  • Pour milk to it and allow to boil and cook well.
  • Once ¾ done, add sugar, elachi,  cook full and switch off.
  • Fry cashews in remaining ghee  and add to payasam.
  • Add saffron (optional).
