Cooked and mashed potato        1 cup

Sugar                                                          ½ cup

Milk                                                              ½ cup

Scrapped coconut                              3 tbsp(optional)

Ghee                                                           4 to 5 tbsp

Cashew                                                     few

Elachi powder                                      liberal pinch


  • Heat ghee, fry cashews and keep aside.
  • In remaining  ghee, add cooked and mashed potato, sauté for 5 minutes.
  • Add sugar, mix well, then add milk.
  • Mix well and add coconut.
  • Keep stirring in sim flame till it is fully cooked and reaches halwa consistency.
  • Add elachi powder and mix well.
  • Switch off burner and add fried cashews and enjoy this delicious sweet.
