VELLA AVAL-SWEET POHA

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Aval                                       1 cup

Coconut                              ¼ cup

Jiggery powder             1 cup

Elachi                                   4

Ghee                                     2 spoons

Cashew                               6

METHOD:

Clean the aval and soak in water for 5 minutes. In a kadai, dissolve jiggery in water, filter and allow to boil to single kambi consistency.  Drain the water from aval, add to boiling jiggery in kadai.  Add elachi.  Stir well to mix completely.  Add coconut and switch off burner.  Fry cashews in ghee , add to vella aval , mix well and serve.
