It is a very healthy and tasty thogayal, I have made with curry leaves, going well with any tiffin.
Also can be mixed with hot white rice with ghee along with any coconut jeera kootu.
I made beetroot-carrot kootu for this (that also posted).
Ginger fairly big piece
Curry leaves 1 cup
Coconut ½ cup
Tamarind big tamarind seed size
Salt as required
Hing liberal pinch
Urad dal 4 tbsp
Red chilly 4
Oil 1 or 2 spoons
- Heat oil in kadai, add urad dal and red chilly, fry golden.
- Add ginger cut pieces, curry leaves and coconut and sauté well for 7 to 8 times.
- Grind with salt, hing and tamarind.
