TOMATO THOKKU

Items Required:

Tomato                                                 8

chilly powder                                                         1 spoon

salt                                                                              as required

hing & methi powder                                      small pinch

gingelly oil or cooking oil                           4 to 5 spoons

mustard                                                                 for tempering

 

 METHOD:

Grind tomato without adding water as a fine paste.

heat oil in kadai, add mustard, hing, ground paste, methi powder, chilly powder and salt.

allow to boil for 5 minutes , stirring in between.

transfer to serving bowl, once it becomes thick(as shown)

Very tasty tomato thokku is ready.

very good side dish for tiffins and tomato rice can be made with this by mixing it with white rice.
