LEMON OATS-1 LEMON OATS-2

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Oats                                       1 cup

Lemon                                  1-big

Roasted peanut              half handful

Salt                                         as required

Water                                     1 cup

For tempering:

Cooking oil                         2 spoons

Mustard                                ¼ spoon

Urad dal                               ¼ spoon

Chana dal                            ¼ spoon

Hing                                         liberal pinch

Curry leaf                             1 strip

Turmeric powder            pinch

METHOD:

  • Dry fry oats for 2 to 3 minutes and transfer to a plate.
  • Heat oil, do tempering adding items in the mentioned order.
  • Add water and salt,  allow to boil.
  • Squeeze the lemon, remove seeds and add to boiling water(this is for uniform mixing).
  • Add oats, mix well, keep burner in medium and cook for 3 more minutes.
  • Switch off and add peanuts and enjoy this healthy tiffin.

Note: Lemon extract can be added to boiling water or at the end along with peanuts.
