DAL – SIDE DISH FOR CHAPPATHI

DAL (EASY METHOD FOR BEGINNERS)

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Moong dal                              1 small cup

Onion                                        1

Tomato                                    1

Green chilly                           3

Coriander leaves              as required

Salt                                           as required

METHOD:

Soak moong dal 15 minutes before preparation in a small cooker. In that add, cut pieces of onion, tomato, green chillies & salt.  Cook for 4 to 5 whistles. Open cooker, add coriander leaves and serve.  (tempering in 1 spoon coconut oil with mustard is optional).

A very good, healthy, easy to make & tasty side dish for chappathi. Can be taken with rice & ghee also.   Made a bit watery may go well with idly , dosa too.
