MURUNGAI KEERAI(DRUMSTICK LEAVES) PORIYAL – Village cooking

Items Required:
  1. Murungai keerai                                               1 bunch
  2. Toor dal                                                                 1 cup
  3. Red chilly                                                              4 or 5
  4. Small onion                                                        10
  5. Jeera                                                                       1 spoon
  6. Coconut                                                                1 cup
  7. Salt                                                                          as required
  8. Rice flour                                                             1 spoon
  9. Ghee                                                                       1 tbsp
 Method:

Cook toor dal in a small cooker, upto 3 whistles.

Take out the leaves from the stalk, wash & add in cooked dal in cooker.

Cut small onions, break the red chillies and add them in cooker. Add salt & jeera.

Once it is cooked and mixed well, add coconut, rice flour & ghee, mix well & serve.

Very, very tasty & nutritious dish, purely traditional.
