BLACK EYED PEAS-SUNDAL

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Black eyed peas                                300 gm

Onion                                                       2

Coconut                                                 ¼ cup

Chilly powder                                    1 spoon

Salt                                                          as required

Green chilly                                        1 (optional)

Coriander leaves                            small quantity

Cooking oil                                        2 spoons

Mustard,urad dal                          for tempering

METHOD:

  • Soak black eyed peas overnight.
  • Cook well in pressure cooker.
  • Heat oil in kadai, add tempering items, add cut green chilly.
  • Add cut onions , sauté till golden.
  • Add cooked peas, salt, chilly powder and mix well and close with lid for 2 minutes.
  • Add scrapped coconut and switch off.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

Very healthy snack item for evenings.
