KILLU MILAGA KUZHAMBU

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Tamarind – small lime size

Salt – as required

For frying and powdering:

Toor dal -2 tbsp

Methi seed – 1 tbsp

For tempering:

Ghee – 3 tbsp

Mustard – little

Urad dal – little

Red chilly – 6

Hing powder – liberal pinch

Curry leaf – 1 strip

METHOD:

  • Fry toor dal and methi seeds to golden and powder finely.
  • Soak tamarind and extract juice.
  • Break red chilies.
  • Heat ghee and do tempering with items mentioned under “for tempering”.
  • Add tamarind water and salt.
  • Allow to boil for 3 minutes.
  • Add powder, stir well and allow to boil well.
  • Switch off once done.
