RAW BANANA COCONUT CURRY

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Raw banana                       4

Coconut                                 1 small cup

Salt                                           as required

Turmeric powder             small pinch

Tamarind water               made from tamarind seed sized tamarind

Cooking oil                          2 tbsp (requires very less oil only)

Mustard                                 ½ spoon

Urad dal                               ½ spoon

Chana dal                            ½ spoon

Red chilly                             3

Hing                                         liberal pinch

Coconut oil                         1 spoon (optional)

Curry leaves                       1 strip

METHOD:

  • Cut raw banana as shown and boil with tamarind water, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Heat oil in kadai, add mustard, urad dal, chana dal, red chilly(broken), hing and curry leaves.
  • Once done, add boiled vegetable , salt and sauté well.
  • May require only few minutes since it is cooked already.
  • Once it reaches semi solid form, add coconut, coconut oil and switch off.
  • Mix well and serve.

Brinjal also can be prepared in the same method.
