BLACK EYED PEAS SUNDAL

It is known as “brown karamani” in Tamil.

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Black eyed peas                               1 cup

Pepper powder                                ½ spoon

Salt                                                          as required

Cooking oil                                         2 spoons

Red chilly                                            1

Onion                                                     1

Mustard                                                little

Coriander leaves                            little

METHOD:

  • Soak black eyed peas overnight and cook for 8 whistles.
  • Heat oil, add mustard, broken red chilly, onion and sauté well till golden.
  • Now add cooked peas.
  • Add pepper powder and salt.
  • Sauté well and allow to cook together for 2 more minutes and switch off.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
