INSTANT VEGETABLE KOOTU

for instant kootu powder:
ITEMS REQUIRED:
Toor dal 1 cup
Moong dal ½ cup
Urad dal ¼ cup
Cooking oil ½ spoon
Pepper 2 spoons
Red chilli powder ¼ cup
METHOD:
- Roast the dals in ¼ spoon of oil and allow to warm up.
- Roast pepper lightly.
- Powder all together nicely, mix chilly powder, sieve and store in airtight container.
KOOTU PREPARATION
ITEMS REQUIRED:
- Any single or mixed vegetables 2 cups
- (I have taken chow chow-2 nos, carrot-1, potato-1 small).
- Salt as required
- Turmeric powder pinch
- Kootu powder 3 to 4 spoons
For tempering:
- Coconut oil 1 spoon
- Mustard, urad dal and curry leaf little of each
METHOD:
- Peel off skin of vegetables and cut into small pieces.
- Wash and transfer to cooker.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, kootu powder and cook for 2 to 3 whistles.
- Once you are able to open the cooker, temper with items mentioned.
