PULI AVAL-TAMARIND POHA

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Aval                                           1 cup

Tamarind                               gooseberry size

Mustard,urad dal,oil     for tempering

Curry leaf                               1 strip

Hing                                          small pinch

Turmeric powder              small pinch

Salt                                            as required

Red chilly                               2 – big

peanuts                                   4 tbsp

METHOD:

Extract tamarind juice, clean the aval and soak  in that for 5 minutes.  Add salt, turmeric powder and hing to it , mix well and keep.  (you should have correct quantity of tamarind water, otherwise, you add these items in kadai, while preparing).

Heat oil in kadai, do tempering with mustard, urad dal, red chillies and add curry leaves.  Add the aval mixture, peanuts and stir well and serve once fully mixed and water is completely drained.
