Sweet appam

METHOD-1:

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Raw rice                             1 cup

urad dal                             1 spoon

jaggery                               3/4 cup

coconut                              1/4 cup

elachi powder                 1/2 spoon

cooking oil or ghee       2 tbsp

METHOD:

  • Soak rice and urad dal for two hours and grind as a fine paste along with coconut.
  • Boil jaggery till it is dissolved, filter out impurities and mix with ground paste along with elachi.
  • In a non stick appam pan, pour a drop of oil or ghee in each hole and pour the dough, in each hole using a spoon.
  • turn side and take out once it is golden.

METHOD-2:

ITEMS REQUIRED:

Wheat flour       1 cup

Rice flour            3/4 cup

jaggery                 1 cup

elachi powder  as required

Cooking oil        2 tbsp

coconut piece   small bit

METHOD:

  • Cut coconut into small pieces.
  • Boil jaggery and filter out impurities.
  • Mix all items finely as idly dough adding water to the required level.
  • Prepare paniaram as said in method-1.
